Janet Vasil is an award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 25 years experience in radio and television news and information programming as an Anchor, Reporter, Producer, Host and Voice-over Narrator.
She is a classically trained vocalist and graduate of the College of Fine Arts at Boston University. After a decade spent climbing the corporate ladder in the telecommunications industry, Janet broke into broadcasting at a Boston radio station. Following an extensive career in radio news, she joined the news team at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, PA.
For more than 15 years, Janet was a familiar face and trusted voice in the Lehigh Valley, reporting and anchoring the nightly news. She has interviewed fascinating people from all walks of life - everyone from Presidents, Celebrities, and Sports Stars to everyday Newsmakers, like her next-door neighbor and the man on the street.
Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for outstanding journalism, including honors from The Associated Press, United Press International,.the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, and with several Emmy nominations.
She has also donated her talents and media know-how to charitable organizations including the local March of Dimes, Easter Seals Society, American Cancer Society and SPCA, among others.
In recent years, Janet has traveled the country as a Health Reporter/Producer for Medstar Television, a national syndicator of televised and new media medical news and health programming. Her stories are seen on broadcast stations, Internet sites and cable networks worldwide.
In 2007, she founded a boutique media company, Your Media Moment & Beyond! Janet shares her on-air insider secrets, as a Media Coach/Consultant and Publicity Marketing Strategist, to help Women Entrepreneurs, Authors, Service Professionals and Other Experts market themselves with free publicity on TV/Radio and the "Virtual Airwaves." She also continues to work as a TV Producer and Voice-Over Artist.
Janet is the author of the book, The Late Bloomer Entrepreneur: How Primetime Women Entrepreneurs Can Blossom in Business & Life and contributed to the 2008 book, Seen and Heard: The Women of Television News by Nichola D.Gutgold,Ph.D.
Janet and her husband live outside Philadelphia, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
