About Janet

Janet Vasil is an award-winning and Emmy-nominated  journalist with more than 25 years experience as an Anchor, Reporter and Producer in radio and television news and information programming.

She is a classically trained vocalist and graduate of the College of Fine Arts at Boston University.  After a decade spent climbing the corporate ladder in the telecommunications industry, Janet broke into broadcasting at a Boston radio station.  Following an extensive career in radio news, she joined the news team at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, PA.

For more than 15 years, Janet was a familiar face and trusted voice in the Lehigh Valley, reporting and anchoring the nightly TV news. She has interviewed fascinating people from all walks of life – everyone from Presidents, Celebrities, and Sports Stars to everyday Newsmakers, like her next-door neighbor and the man on the street.

Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for outstanding journalism, including honors from The Associated Press, United Press International, the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and several local Emmy nominations.

She has also volunteered her talents and media know-how to help non-profit organizations including the March of Dimes, Easter Seals Society, American Cancer Society, SPCA, Women's Business Forum of Bucks County, among others.

For more than a decade, Janet traveled the country as a Health Reporter/Producer for Medstar Television, a national syndicator of broadcast and New Media medical news and health programming.  Her stories are seen on television stations, Internet sites and cable networks worldwide.

In 2007, she founded Vasil Media Group, a boutique media business that works with Professionals, Business Owners and other Experts, especially medical, health and wellness Experts, to help them step into the online spotlight to attract more clients and customers with video social media.  She also continues to work as an independent TV Health Reporter/Producer and Voice-Over Artist.

Janet is the Author of two books, The Late Bloomer Entrepreneur: How Primetime Women Entrepreneurs Can Blossom in Business & Life and Top Spot: Put Your Local Business on the Map with Google. She also contributed to the 2008 book, Seen and Heard: The Women of Television News by Nichola D.Gutgold,Ph.D.

Janet and her husband live outside Philadelphia, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
